  • What: Essay writing workshop
  • Why:  The essay portion of the SAT is the first section of the test, so doing well on it can give students added confidence for doing well on the rest of test.  Since the essay is 25% of a student's SAT Writing score, mastering the essay can be the key to dramatically improving their overall SAT score.  During this one-hour workshop students will write a timed 25 minute essay using an essay prompt from a previous year's SAT test.  Once they complete their essay the will learn the role of the essay in the SAT test, how their essays will be graded, and strategies for excelling in this portion of the test.  Graded essay will be returned to students in 7-10 days.  
  • When: Friday,September 28, 2012 at 6.30pm
  • Reporting time: 20 minutes before the start time
  • How long:  2 hours
  • Where: Centerville Jr. High, Multipurpose room
  • Who: 7th grade and above; MUST be TGIF member
  • Cost :Free for the TGIF members
  • Registration opens: Sunday, September 16, 2012
  • Registration closes: 12pm, Thursday, September 27, 2012
  • What to bring: Just your spirit to learn.

Good to know:  Please sign in and sign out your child (even if you are staying in the hall for the event). There will be a $5 (cash) charge for the first 5 minute late pick-up. After that time, it will be $5 per minute late pick-up. We will need the due in cash amount at the time of pickup.
